AREYTO / Rosanna Tavarez

Weaving together the Lakota myth “Old Woman in a Cave” and the story of Taina cacica Anacaona, AREYTO is a contemporary dance-theater work that explores themes of creation, destruction, the early colonization of the island of Kiskeya/Ayiti (present day Haiti & the Dominican Republic) and the tenacious power of women from the Afro-Indigenous Diaspora.
